Now though it is true that some styles might not be appropriate for some events, and might give the hint of informality, I don’t believe that Michelle Obama in this case conveys that message. She carries herself very well, and I don’t believe that a couple of bear arms should be counted against her, when she carries everything else off quite nicely.

Also those bare arms are quite the topic of discussion. One can not help but take note of how well sculptured her arms are. I do have bad news however for those of you that were wondering. Those arms require a 90 minute workout with a personal trainer. The good news however is that you can now go to the gym and some gyms are offering a workout geared toward sculpting your arms in a similar manner.

On to more important things. Michelle has done a wonderful job lately of living up to her title as first lady of fashion. She is ofcourse doing a nice job in all those other charitable areas that counts as well, because giving is always in style.

She is only the second first lady to grace to cover of Vogue magazine after Hilary, thus some would say establishing Michelle as a fashion icon.

The poll is finally back and 80% liked her dress for the inauguration ball. Now I have to be honest on this one, I was not in the 80% percentile on the inauguration dress. I thought the color was wrong, the style did not work for me. Michelle has a wonderful stylish and graceful form, but I don’t believe the inauguration dress conveyed that to it’s full capacity. Also the dress was a bit long, and the flow was not comfortable, you saw this a lot when she was dancing. The other part of the dress that did not work well for me personally was the one shoulder look. Michelle is very statuesque, but the one shoulder outfits that I have perused thus far, do not work for me. The one shoulder look worked well for Princess Diana, and was a nice signature style, for her, but I am not loving it with Michelle currently. This can always change, because it is fashion ofcourse.

What I did love. Recently spotted, Michelle Obama in a strapless deep-purple, sequined “Peter Soronen” evening dress. The sway of the dress, the length, and the fit were perfect for her. The strands of pearls that accompanied it was a very smart choice. I gave her full marks for the outfit, and it fully redeemed her for any points lost in my opinion due to the Inauguration dress. The fully strapless look was also the perfect format to show off those lovely arms. This picture needs no explanation. I also wish she had worn this to the inauguration ball, this would have stolen all eyes and hearts.

One of my favorite outfits still has to be the dress she wore on the view. A great look, the sleeveless, white and black patterned dress a surefire hit.

So once again if you have it and you can do so in a tasteful manner I say flaunt it and thus far Michelle Obama has done so very well. On top of that, she wears what she likes and often does so without any apologies for it. Another nice quality to have.

Obama finally paid a visit to Canada and what a warm welcome he received. Canada’s GG (Governor General) Michaelle Jean was on hand for the welcome and what a welcome it was. Michaelle Jean is one of the warmest and friendliest persons you could hope to have in such a position. Not only is she warm and friendly, but she is a true professional.

On top of that she has the style to match her role, not only does she do her job well, but she dresses the part even better.

Obama ofcourse was his usual stylish self, and over a couple of thousand turned out in Ottawa to bid him welcome.

Apparently the visit was all around good for everyone. Apparently a winning combination. The stylings of Her Excellency Michelle Jean, and the Youthful vibrancy of the new American President. Two people who do their jobs well, so far, and more importantly look good doing it.

Pink Roses

Always in style. Always lovely to send and to receive. Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and that should have some thinking about sending flowers.

Though a dozen red roses are traditional and always in style, there are many other varieties of flowers that can be sent this season.

Pink is in, there are so many wonderful shades, but there are also so many different styles. When sending flowers don’t just stop at the petals, go for the vase, add a dash of class. Many flowers can be delivered with creative containers, ribbons, and other creative accessories.

I like the fact that websites are becoming more stylized. Information is wonderful to have, but if you can have it delivered in a professional and stylish fashion well all the better.

I recently had six browsers windows opened and when I looked up do you know what I saw? Complete and total browser bling. That’s right, there were these cute little favicons in every single browser window that I had open.

Just a couple of years ago, favicons were being used primarily by larger websites, and I am not sure if many people realised what they were or cared, but with the advent of web 2.0, many websites across the internet are adding them as part of the must have style for their websites.

Google Favicon

The next time you are surfing the internet, take a quick look up in the top left hand corner and try to see which websites have their browser bling on. Google recently had their new favicon designed and it’s very colorful. I am not sure if I like it yet, but I know you can’t miss it when you use google.

Favicons are cute and they are really easy to make. You just open an image program. Create a 16 x 16 pixel square, then use the image, word, letters, etc that you want. Now remember these are tiny designs so you can be creative, but not too creative.

Once you have your design save it in the format that you wish. I usually save in jpg format.

Then go to a favicon creation website, upload your favicon, and the creation tool will save your image in .ico format. It should be favicon.ico.

Once your have this download it onto your computer, unzip the file, then you have to upload the new .ico image to your website, in the .header of your .html page, you can add this bit o coding, just change the url location to your url location.

Then just re-upload your page or pages. Once done open any browser window and you should have your own cute little browser bling.

Some people will also take the time to register their browser bling in the favicon directory this way your website won’t get caught wearing the same favicon as another website, because that would be a favicon no no.

Presidential Fashion

because he manages to look good in just about everything that I have seen him in. It’s really difficult to write the same thing over and over again when critiquing fashion, but with Obama that would be what happens.

He manages to get the right style, walk and look down pat everytime. From swimming at the beach, to playing golf, baseball, and of course strutting his stuff in those high class presidential suits.

He has a keen sense of style and he uses it well. From head to toe he is often decked out to the nines and he is very comfortable with what he wears and how he chooses to wear it. From his shirts, ties, down to the shoes there is a elegant sense of cordination which is nice to see in the male gender.

The style does not just stop at his inner wear, it extends to his outer wear. His coats are nicely fitting, they come across as expertly tailored, and his other style also leave nothing to be desired.

As I said at the beginning of this post. It’s very hard to write about Obama’s sense of style because it’s very keen and I would say bordering on perfection. Let’s hope this much desired trend continues.
